I will start by thanking the members of Broderiakademin, the Swedish Embroidery that created World Embroidery Day 6 years ago! Those women had a fantastic idea in celebrating hand embroidery both in its rich history and diversity!
If you haven’t already this year, take a moment to read the beautiful Manifesto created to celebrate this almost ancient textile craft:
Wether you are new to embroidery or you have been stitching for years, I have created a pattern that celebrates the unifying feeling that embroidery brings to my life, and I hope to yours as well.
I encourage you to do as the manifesto suggests and celebrate your creativity through embroidery! The example above is just that, and example of how this pattern can be stitched. Have fun, relax and enjoy creating your own work of art!
